Fly fishing for Pike...

Managed to get out to the river yesterday, joined by my good friend Chris who came along to take some pictures and familiarise himself with the filming controls on the new camera. The river was in perfect condition, normal level and a nice hint of green running through it after running off from recent floods. We only managed one Pike but had a great day and learnt a lot as we fished/filmed, here is a short video comprising of some of the footage shot...

UK Fly fishing for Pike, winter...

Although it's the first attempt i'm quite pleased with the results, and with more practice(any excuse to go fishing) i think we should be able to capture some great fishing. I look forward to bringing more footage to the site, which may tell the story a little better than a still photograph...

Shouldn't be too long before i'm out again, the evening's are getting lighter and although the end of the coarse season is near, the Trout season is just around the corner...

A bit slow...

Things are a little slow at the moment with the recent rain, a raging river barely withing it's bank is not ideal for fly fishing!.....So i've been tying a few flies and going through some gear having a sort out, i'm ok for Pike flies to last me till the end of the season so i thought i'd stock up on Trout flies(being next on the seasonal quarry list), i decided on tying a few Olives as they'll be the first to show on the stream...

I also found a video from back in the summer i took with the "hat cam" while doing some early morning Piking with foam poppers, only a modest fish but the teeth marks on it's flank show that much bigger fish are in there, anyway with it looking so bleak and washed out through the window it's nice to see mother nature's summer coat, enjoy...

New year, new look!...

Whilst being stuck inside today due to contracting a good dose of man flu(it'd kill a woman you know!) i thought i'd give the place a spruce up, dont worry though! i've not deleted or got shot of anything.......... just changed the place around a little and given it a face-lift!

Hope you approve,

Graham
